                The Bay of Kotor is the natural and cultural treasury of the world. More than thousand years of its existence have left a very rich legacy. Fortresses, ramparts, old towns, squares and villas reflect its colorful history.  

               The nature has been even more generous. Bays, coves, straits and beaches are located just below large rocky mountains. It is characterized by a clear and warm sea at the foot of the mountains whose snowy tops are reflected in its dark blue clear water. Due to these characteristics, Kotor is under the UNESCO protection as a part of the world cultural and natural inheritance.

               Different civilizations and cultures have left numerous legends – while some of them are true, the others are the fruit of imagination. A fine line between the myth and reality disappeared by the passage of time. The stories have remained.

               One interesting story is kept by the hotel Amphora. Located in a small picturesque fishermen’s settlement called Orahovac, near Kotor and Perast, it was named by amphorae, a type of clay vase being used as the principal means for transporting and storing oil, wine, grain and other commodities during the 1st and 2nd century B.C.. Handmade in Italy and Greece, and later on in Dalmatia, they used to be and still are a symbol of safe deposit box for valuables.  Found at the bottom of the sea by fishermen and divers, they can provide invaluable information on habits and life of the ancient peoples.

               While amphorae are kept in museums, private collections or at the bottom of the sea, the Hotel Amphora is accessible to all those who enjoy in gorgeous views, quite beaches and comfort. The local cuisine prepared in this hotel is a challenge for gourmands, and the hotel has 12 extremely comfortable rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, which become the habit of family and business men.
